Kids can’t get enough of getting “hands-on” with animals, and The Miniature Pony Centre (30 minutes drive from Melrose Cottage) has plenty to offer. You and your mini-me can meet and interact with miniature Shetland ponies and their foals, miniature pigs, a Suffolk Punch horse named Harris as well as miniature and mammoth (!) donkeys. There are plenty of facilities to make life easy like free car parking, an onsite café, indoor and outdoor play areas, and toilets. There is plenty of outdoor and indoor seating available for picnics too.
