Drake’s farm (a short 20 minute drive from Melrose Cottage) is a particular favourite for younger children, providing a covered sandpit play area and a small petting zoo with pigs, sheep, and chickens. Don’t forget to take some coins to buy animal feed so that you can send your kids off with a task whilst you enjoy a delicious, hot cappuccino or latte in peace. The café with indoor and outdoor tables serving delicious, local ice creams and light meals. 

If you have time on the way home, check out the Oinkers farm shop, which is opposite, selling the world-renowned Devon Fire Chutney, as well as a selection of farm produce and has an in house butchers too.
